fundawears cloth diapers
Hemp - Hemp is a  fiber made from the inner bark of the hemp plant. It is becoming increasingly popular for use in diapers because of
its durability, absorbency and natural anti-microbial properties. It is 4X more absorbent than Cotton and makes a yummy liner and
soaker!
I use 55% Hemp 45% Organic Cotton Fleece and 55% Hemp 45 % Organic Cotton Jersey.

Bamboo - A new fabric for the diapering world. It is made from Bamboo trees and is known for is velvety softness and environmental
friendliness.  It requires less pesticides and grows very, very fast.  It has natural anti-microbial properties and is SUPER absorbent.
I
use 70% Bamboo 30% Organic Cotton Fleece and 70% Bamboo 30% Organic Cotton Terry
cloth for liners and Super soakers.
Sometimes Bamboo takes a little bit longer to dry.

PUL - Polyurethane Laminate – PUL is fabric with a waterproof laminate applied to the back. This makes for an extremely thin, soft
fabric that is waterproof and easy to care for.  PUL was created for the Hospitals as a Sterile waterproof barrier.  It was made to be
autoclaved. PUL covers will not yellow or crack over time. Contrary to belief, PUL requires a HOT dry to re-bond the Laminent to the
fabric. If another cover states not to dry it- it is not PUL. Check the tags. Make sure they are not Vinyl, Vinyl-Coated Polyester, PVC,
because They are produced of polyvinyl chloride, a plastic that may contain phthalates, an endocrine disruptor, and may also produce
harmful compounds during the off-gassing process.
The PUL I use is HOSPITAL GRADE, Made in the USA, is PHTHALATE FREE
(BPA) AND LEAD FREE!
Fabuthane®PUL manufactured by Fabrite.

Wool - Probably the oldest of the natural fibers. Most often comes from a variety of sheep, but can also include camel, angora, alpaca,
and vicuna. It is spun into a very large variety of weights and fabrics. Its water repelling properties and breathability are what make it
popular for use as a diaper cover. It is often lanolized to increase its water repellent properties. Wool is naturally breathable, keeping
baby’s body temperature cooler than PUL covers, which in turn helps prevent the growth of bacteria that can cause diaper rash. Wool
is naturally anti-bacterial and can absorb up to one-third of its weight in moisture without feeling wet. A common misconception is that a
wool cover is scratchy against baby’s skin. A high-quality wool cover made from untreated wool is soft and comfortable. Wool covers do
require some special care to perform optimally, but because wool is naturally self-cleaning, the cover can be air dried between uses
and will require laundering approximately every two weeks unless soiled. To wash a wool cover, simply soak in wool wash and dry flat.
Every 10-12 washes, add a bit of lanolin (Lansinoh, for example) to the wash to help maintain water resistance. Wool provides excellent
leak protection, even overnight!

Velour - A medium-weight, closely-woven fabric with a thick pile. It can be made using either a plain weave or a satin weave
construction. It resembles velvet, but has a lower cut pile.

Suedecloth - Has the appearance of regular suede but is much easier to care for. It does not easily stain and washes beautifully.
Suedecloth is commonly used for the interior of diapers due to its ease of care and wickability.

Fleece -  Polyester is a manufactured fiber known for crease resistance, quick drying, shape retention in garments, high strength,
abrasion resistance and minimum care. Polyester is a fiber easily blended with other fibers. In diapers, polyester can be blended with
another material (like cotton) to add more durability.
All Hemp, Bamboo, and Cotton fabrics are
Certified Organic from a manufacturer in the USA!

Welcome to FUNDAWEARS Cloth Diapers and Baby/Mama Accessories.  I am a new
MOM and a Cloth Diapering Addict!  My newest son rocks
FUNDAWEARS all day
everyday!  My obsession started when I was pregnant. I knew I wanted to CD but where
do I start? I Googled "Cloth Diaper" and was OVERWHELMED with the
information out there. So my research began.... I investigated for months but really wanted
to get my hands on some diapers before I committed to spending nearly $20 per diaper. I
wanted to touch, feel and see how the darn things worked!
There are only a few stores that carry CD in this town and I knew BG's were not the
only CD choice. I bought my first CD, a newborn Bumgenius. How cute?!  I then found
CD on ETSY.com and Mama's making and selling them.  I know my way around a sewing
machine and decided that it can not be that hard to make one.  Well..... MANY interesting
attempts later......
FUNDAWEARS was born!
